    • Bell Ringer Bundle for Grades 9-12
      Start your class off right and get your high school students engaged immediately! This art history / art appreciation Bell ringer also meets the national standards for the visual arts (and your state standards, which are usually aligned with the national standards) in the following areas:

      • Responding: Understanding and evaluating how the arts convey meaning
      • Connecting: Relating artistic ideas and work with personal meaning and external contextThis activity also teaches critical thinking, as students will learn how to describe, analyze, interpret, and evaluate art.It also teaches literacy and provides other cross-curricular elements (social studies, and geography)You can get more of these in the Happy Art Teachers store, where I’ve created a bundle to get you through the entire semester, and am adding more semester bundles regularly.

 

  • Art History / Art Appreciation Activity for 4-6 year-olds
    Don’t make the mistake of assuming your pre-school through first graders are too young to learn art history and art appreciation. Students in this age group LOVE to talk about art! This activity meets the national standards for the visual arts in the following areas:

    • Responding: Understanding and evaluating how the arts convey meaning

  • Art Activity for Toddlers (ages 2-3)
    This activity provides sensory stimulation and exposure to artmaking for your 2-3 year-olds. Art activities for toddlers are important because it helps them to develop skills that are vitally important for their cognitive development and growth.This activity meets the national standards for the visual arts in the following area:
